"The little prince and the snake" by Maribel Mondragon

Once upon a time in the middle of the world, there was a big kingdom, the kingdom of faraway land there lived a wise and kind Queen who was called Anastasia. The people who lived there were happy because they never had problems and always celebrated that the queen was reigning in that place. However, the queen herself was sad and worried because a devilish snake had entered his son’s body by a damn that had thrown her husband, the previous king.

When Prince Arturo grew up, he thought, “It is because of me that my mother worried when I was a child." Moreover, one day, he left the palace when he was 18 years old. Wandering, he came to another kingdom. He found a desolate temple and started living there without food and a bed to sleep.
The King of that kingdom was cruel and he did not have a wife because she died when her daughter born. Nevertheless, he had a kind and beautiful daughter. The King was unhappy with his daughter because that girl was always ridiculing her father’s hard work. The King thought, “She is always talking to me low of my hard work. I must marry her to a beggar. Then she will know what hard work is."

Therefore, when the beggar Prince Arturo came to beg for food in the Palace, the cruel King Poseidon forced him to marry his daughter Ursula. Prince Arturo and his new bride Ursula started for the desolate temple. On their way, they stopped to take rest. Princess Ursula went around in search of food, while her husband went to sleep because he had a stomachache.

When Princess Ursula came back, she was shocked to see a snake sitting on her husband’s mouth. On a mount nearby sat another snake that observed the kingdom of faraway land all the time. They were talking among themselves. “Why do not you leave the body of Prince Arturo? He is so kind and gentle," said the snake sitting on the mound. “You too are evil! You attack passers-by. You should not be telling me what to do," replied the snake sitting on the mouth of Prince Arturo.

Princess Ursula killed both the snakes with all her courage and ended with the damn that had tormented Prince Arturo for so many years. When her husband woke up, she told him about the two snakes. The Prince Arturo was happy. Then he told her who he really was and why he was wandering in her father´s kingdom. She never thought that her husband was a beautiful prince. They set off to the Prince’s Arturo palace. The Queen Anastasia was delighted to see his son. When Queen Anastasia learned that the devilish snake was killed, his joy knew no bounds. The Prince Arturo and Princess Ursula lived happily for a long time. After few years, the Kingdom celebrated the day on which the Royal the couple gave birth to twins, one boy called Federico and one girl called Sophia.

From that day, when the king Poseidon came to the kingdom of faraway land to meet his grandchildren and saw the beauty of Queen Anastasia, he did not want to part with her, they formed a royal family in the great the palace and they all lived happily ever after.
